World Premiere Recording of Weinberg´s Opera "The Idiot" under the baton of Thomas Sanderling

The Idiot, composed in 1986/1987, is Mieczyslaw Weinberg's last opera. It intensifies Dostoevsky´s novel into a sudden series of images on a multiple stage, including as well epic comments. This is the recording of the staging of the National Theatre of Mannheim under the baton of Thomas Sanderling, which was awarded the title “Premiere of the Year” in 2013 by the German magazine Opernwelt.
